2019 challenge

Goodbye 2018 (1/365)

2018 was a special year for me, it was 365 days of not giving a shit and making up for lost time. I spent so much of 2017 miserable since I spent most of it cuddled in darkness dealing with migraines whilst in a toxic work environment. So 2018 was my release from it all, and a time to really just go with the flow.

Which is something that can have ramifications, but I learnt a lot from every mishap. I truly did have a lot of fun, tried new things like rage room, axe throwing, running off spontaneously to different cities. I also got to watch my favourite cousin get married and have the honour of being her bridesmaid, so that journey in itself was emotional and I’m truly happy for her.

My friendships were also reinforced this year since it’s a well-known fact that once you leave school, friendships are harder to maintain since you have to actually put the effort in. Which is what we all did, and my birthday week really did emphasise this since everyone was amazing and it was a time of pure bliss and celebrations.

2018 also taught me that I really do want to stay single, honestly, I just think that right now I need to focus on myself, my family and my friends.

Although this year did come with its sadness and real personal lows for me, I’m confident in being able to overcome them and really just bring a new type of energy into 2019.

Goodbye, 2018 – you taught me a lot, and I’ll make sure to bring those lessons into the new year.

How was your year in 2018?
