Beauty Lies Influencers Sell You (84/365)

Over the past few years the influence of beauty bloggers has sky rocketed. It’s reached the point of them having the power to make or break beauty brands, but with great power comes responsibility. In this case, a lot of them haven’t been using this power for good, and have been selling us lies.

Price = Quality

I completely understand that a lot of pricey products have better and more natural ingrediants, but that doesn’t mean they’re always better than our cheaper alternatives. Sometimes it’s better to not invest thousands into a few creams, since not everyone can afford it, but they don’t always work.

It’s also important to take into account that everyone’s skin is different, so what works for them will not always work for you. And before spending £50 on a face oil, maybe consider just using a cheaper one you can buy in any store, and just use the right kind for your skin tone. I’ve personally saved a lot of money DIY-ing some aspects of my skincare and I highly reccomend it.

Detox Teas

Detox teas are one of those things that you think people promote as a joke, and then realise that some people geneuinley believe they’re good for you. Firstly it’s important to remember that your body alrrady naturally detoxes your insides, and has a whole digestive system and a smart liver dedicated to this.

Secondly, detox teas are laxatives – that’s all. They make you poop loads, so people think that they’ll make you lose weight, when in reality you’re just losing what you’ve eaten the day before. It might be worth just looking into eating healthier and exercising.

Every DIY Lip Plumping Method

Just stop doing it, a lot of them are really harmful to your lips and the skin around it. The constant use of weird suctioning products causes bruising, and cayenne peppers sting. If it’s painful, it’s not worth it.

Every Ingredient They Promote That Has No Place On Your Face

Yes guys some ingredients shouldn’t really be used on your face at all. Like baking soda as an exfoliator or coconut oil as a moisturiser, and if you’re going to use lemon – use it sparingly and at night time since your skin will be SUPER sensitive to sun damage. Always research things before incorporating them into a DIY skincare product, because a lot of influencers are out here trying to ruin our skin.
