Personality Traits I Honestly Can’t Stand (243/365)

Throughout your life you go through loads of things, and in most cases these shape your personality and for the most part I do find it interesting how people become the way they are. Especially in your adult years because by then people have little quirks that can’t always be explained through their recent history. However, some personality traits I can’t stand and to be personally honest a lot of them are grounds to cut someone off, I have reached a point where I can’t entertain it anymore.

Since I haven’t really posted a rant on here for a while, this is the easiest one to focus on because some people really have some traits that grind my gears.

I can’t deal with liars.

I don’t mean little white lies like pretending to like your cooking or clothing, I mean actual certified liars. People who lie about everything all day everyday to the point that it’s pathological. In most instances it’s a case of trust – you can’t trust someone who lies as easy as they breathe. They will never have your back, and in all honesty it’s not good to spend time with someone that you don’t believe in at all.

It’s always a bit funny when I do encounter liars purely because I’m quite a straight up person, so the contrast is real.

Greedy people

Greedy people will suck the life out of you. It’s not just materialism, that’s fine and I honestly don’t care about someones spending habits, but if someone is truly greedy in their soul, they will take everything from you. Your sanity, your wellbeing, your money, your life – literally they will take it all.

Friendship is a combination of give and take, and if anyone only takes from you, you need to throw them away. They’re not even worth recycling.

People who constantly put you down

Now banter is great, it’s fun and there’s always a balancing act with how it’s done, but if someone enjoys putting you down or making you feel like shit under the guise of banter, run away. Honestly, people who tend to do this are really manipulative and it’s a major red flag!

Dishonourable mentions:

  • People who can’t take your advise, especially after asking for it
  • Those who never ask you how you are
  • Selfish people
  • People who make your experiences about themselves, or just anyone who makes everything about themself
  • Anyone who’s sexist, racist, homophobic etc
  • Anyone who defends people in my above comment

  1. 🙂 I am not fond of liars either and I dislike it a lot whenever people constantly put me down.

Dishonourable mentions are one of the greatest sins that a person can ever commit.

Do enjoy the rest of your day, Fatima!
